How far is the Chalet from Santa Cruz? About 18 miles, or 40 minutes, if you miss traffic. What is the weather like? Perfect- Actually a banana belt exists here at 1100 feet, (usually just above the fog) averaging 70-85 during the day from June to October and 55-65 at night. October and November have lovely weather as well, but a little cooler. December through March is also special- with shorter days, sometimes beautiful healing rain in the forest... with the woodstove to keep you dry and warm. How big is the Chalet? About 600 sq ft, including the loft, with cathedral cielings, it feels a little bigger, but ideal for couples. The kitchen is small but complete, and there is a small refrigerator as well. What is in the Chalet? Everything you'll need for your stay, but your clothes and your food stores. What is the cancellation policy? After 60 days, we can't give refunds, but you will recieve a gift certificate for all nights paid for a future visit. Recommended restaurants? Watsonville: Green Valley Grill, Cilantros. Capitola: Shadowbrook, Takara. Santa Cruz: endless! Try Gabriella Cafe, or Stagnaros on the wharf for seafood... Moss Landing also has some good seafood restaurants. Bon appetite! Misc? Don't forget to visit the Santa Cruz Farmers Market on Wednesdays from 2-6 PM on Cedar st. downtown! For swimming holes, check out the rarely visited, during the week, "Garden of Eden" portion of the lowere San Lorenzo River, only 2 miles from downtown. |
